meet the founder

I’ve always believed that the way we make people feel is what they remember most.

More than 25 years ago, one remarkable beauty therapist changed the course of my life. I was around 18 years old, uncertain about what career path I would go down, and every time I walked into her treatment room, she had an incredible ability to make me feel truly seen and heard. I always left feeling lighter, totally taken care of, and better than when I arrived.

It wasn’t just the treatment itself that stayed with me. It was the care, the connection, and the feeling she created that enveloped me.

She left a lasting imprint on me, and I realised that if I could make other people feel the way she made me feel, I would have found work that really mattered.

That experience inspired me to become a therapist, and for more than 25 years I have dedicated my career to caring for women through skin health, connection, and creating sensory rituals and restorative experiences.

The Power of Details

Throughout my career, including 11 years as the founder of a day spa in the heart of Victoria’s spa country, Daylesford, I discovered that the most memorable experiences weren’t just about the treatments themselves. They were about the details.

I became fascinated by the way small rituals can change how someone feels. It was the touchpoints, the calming aromatherapy that welcomed you, that instantly transported our clients into a state of relaxation. The beautiful textures and quiet moments that helped people slow down, exhale, and feel cared for.

Every part of the experience was intentionally created to help people leave feeling better than when they arrived.

Those rituals became the foundation of the EKO brand.

A New Chapter: Coming Home to Yourself

When I began this new chapter, after taking care of thousands of people, closing the bricks-and-mortar arm of the business gave me the opportunity to think about ‘what’s next?’ I wanted to bottle everything I had learnt over decades of caring for women - not just the products, but the feeling.

The feeling of being nurtured, the feeling of self-care, the feeling of coming home to yourself - a feeling of calm.

Thank you for welcoming EKO into your home and for supporting our small Australian family business. Every order means we are invited to become a small part of your everyday rituals, and that is something I will never take for granted.

With gratitude,
Emma x
